今日の「World Study」は、ラティシャ先生の国、「フランス」についてです。
World Studyは、世界のいろんな国についてお勉強する楽しいレッスンです。
英語の音に慣れている子ども達にとって、フランス語の音はとっても新鮮だったようです(^-^)
「日本とどのくらくい離れているの？」
「何を食べてるの？」
「どんなお祭りがあるの？」
「お洋服はどんなものを着るの？」
などなど、子ども達からは色んな質問が飛び交っていましたよ♬
最後は、フランス語で「こんにちは」と「またね」をロールプレイング形式で楽しく練習しました！

Today we started off by going over the rules. It's easy to say the rules but we have to follow them. We went over two songs, "phonics song" and " Yankee Doodle". For world studies we learned more about Finland.
Today we learned about what kinds of cartoons came from Finland and a little bit about the climate and land. Then we did some writing with the words that came up today. We finished up by doing some number excersizes.
We started by making two new very important posters together for the classroom... The first is our "day of the word" song poster and our RULES poster.
We have incorporated a new style of vocabulary building for the Sophie kids. We sing the "Word of the Day" song! Today was our first time, but we sang it more than 5 times AT LEAST so, the kids must have memorized it by now. The words go like this...

For world studies, we made fake passports & studied Italy... The kids learned the 5 c's →→Continent, Country, Capital, Currency, and Climate! Very important facts to know about countries. After learning and reviewing the answers to these questions, we made paperpizzas!!

Grammar: introduced the verb: am, is, are, was, were their differences and proper use in a sentence. Though it was just an introduction, I was impressed by how some students learned quick about it. Even did half of exercise and will continue next time.
